E85 gas was sold at the lowest price of $2.59 per gallon at one gas station in Alameda County during the week ending Jan. 3, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.

Countywide, E85 gas averaged $3.20 per gallon.

Of the 341 reported gas stations located within Alameda County, 12 offered E85 gas.

Across California, the average reported price for a gallon of E85 gas remained unchanged at $2.85, compared to the week before.

U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration expects global oil stockpiles to keep growing into 2026, a trend that could weigh on crude prices in the near term.
